Best Nikon with high fps? (Frames Per Second)?

I currently have a Nikon D5000 and I like it, but I was wondering what other Nikons have higher fps. Mine has 3 fps when I thought it was higher. I looked at the D90 and it has 4.5 fps. Is there any other good Nikons with good pixels with higher fps?

The full-frame Nikon D3s shoots 9 frames per second, or 11 frames per second in DX mode.

Of the DX cameras like your D5000, the D300s is the fastest at 7 frames per second (8 with additional battery pack and rechargeable battery).

The good old days when we used film cameras-they were seldom able to go any faster than a few frames per seconds (and if they did--how many seconds can it last?)

Cameras are not machine guns. You need not use it like one. Even with sport photos--you can anticipate the shots and fire it at the optimal moment, and not randomly like many people do.

By all means, the first answers already told you which model can go as high as that--but it's too expensive for most people.
