Um, I'm 13 years old and I'd like to become a photographer! )
I have a Nikon D90 a hand-down from my Mother (who is also a photographer)

I'm insterested in doing macro and vintage-styled photographs.

I was wondering for a person who has very little knowladge and experience, where do I start?
I know about the rule of thirds too. I dunno if that helps.

Please don't point out the obvious and say I should ask my Mum, I do. It's just that she's very busy doing wedding photography and editing them.
Oh! I also have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0. But I'm going to get CS5 soon! Ahh!~

I would appreciate if I had some photographer's visit my Flickr page and give me critique also! Beginners Photography I'm very committed to this and I would do anything to be able to express myself through the beauty of Photography and become like my Mum!

(btw my Flickr page is very empty because I just started tonight.

Where do I start?
I would say get to know your camera, read all you can, and try to make photos that have maximum detail.

Get familiar with your camera. Learn where all the controls are and what they are for. Read the owner's manual!

Depth of Field:

Learn to take photos that have maximum detail in the shadows as well as the highlights. Try to avoid clipped highlights and clipped shadows. Try to produce photos that have undetectable post processing and are as close as possible a representation of what you saw with your eye. This won't make you popular with your friends that are your age but after a while they will revere you as some who takes professional pictures.

Learn to manipulate your depth of field. This is a big one.

Take thousands of photos and learn from your mistakes. Always delete the ones that are out of focus or improperly exposed. Never show mistakes to anyone unless it's your mom or someone who can tell you what went wrong.

If you do this then I'll bet by the time you are 16 you will be your mom's best helper at her wedding jobs.

When you can look at a scene and know immediately that it's an impossible situation to get a good pic or know immediately that you need a fill flash then explore getting artsy and breaking the rules.

I really appreciate the way you write using proper punctuation and capitalization. It makes you look intelligent and educated.
