B&A: Nikon OR Canon? Which do you prefer?

I've always used Nikon, ever since I can remember so I've never really tried to use Canon because of being comfortable with Nikon. But what model do you use?

Nikon D5000 for me.

It's really a Ford vs. Chevy question. If you are comfortable with Nikon and Nikon has the lenses you need for your way of work, then stick with Nikon, of if, as in my case, you already own a boatload of Nikon gear. If you can start fresh, try both systems before you buy and don't discount Pentax, they make some great cameras, too.

I prefer the 1D series of Canons for their feel (size/weight) and menu layout, and a fellow photog prefers his Nikon D3 for the same reasons.

The best camera is the one that feels natural to you. If it doesn't feel right and you can't operate the controls (and menu system) effortlessly, then it doesn't matter what brand it is.

I own both a Canon and a Nikon. I prefer using my Nikon though. But the only reason is because my Canon is a P&S and my Nikon is a DSLR, so it's an unfair comparison. I agree with darkroom though. It all depends.

Matters not a jot… Used both and both are good.

Nikon D70s and D3 for me…

I've used both, but only owned a Canon… I can never seem to get the same quality pictures with Nikons, but that may just be because I'm not accustomed to them.plus I've only used a Nikon P&S never a DSLR.
So for me, Canon, my camera is like my child.haha

If you get anyone here telling you one is better that the other mod them down. I've shot both and have friends with both.

Currently use Canon 5d and Canon 30d. Shot the Nikon d90 and d300 but couldn't get used to the feel. That and I have easier access to more Canon lenses.

I have a Canon 60D. Best decision of my life. I don't like the control layout of nikons and I find that the setting screen on canons is alot more easy to use
