Which do you prefer, Canon Rebel or Nikon?

I'm looking for a camera that is especially for photography. In that case, I want a camera with the best quality, but in a 500-700 dollar range. The Canon seems to be popular, but I'm not too sure if the Nikon would be a better choice. Also, along with the cameras, are certain digits. For example: (Nikon D5000), and (Canon EOS Rebel). I'm not familiar with these digits, and I don't understand what it means or what it has to do with the quality.

Nikon. The Digits at the end are just different model numbers.

I've used both Nikon and Cannon before, Nikon just comes out better.

The lenses and accesseries of Nikon are also far better.

Look for something like the Nikon D3000 then go for a nice sigma lense. Maybe a Black rapid strap aswell, there really nice.expensive but nice.

Nikon is better

I prefer Canon. They always have better features. But then again Nikon is no slouch. Which is better depends on you really. They are rather equal all things considered.

Which ever one you decide to go with will be a quality camera.
