Do i sing as good as i think i do? H. E. L. P?

I have a question… I sound like an amazing singer in my head. Like when i hear myself. But when i record it it sounds wicked bad… I even recorded it with my Nikon & it still sounds bad… Is the recording of me singing, how i really sing?
