Canon EOS 70d Announcement?

I'd recently decided to buy Nikon D7100, but I hear that Canon is gonna announce its new EOS 70d and it seems 70d may outperform D7100.
When will Canon release the 70d?
(If Nikon D7100 had a flipout screen, I would definitely choose it. But it doesen't and I think a flipout screen is very essential for capturing video and taking photos from specific angles. That's why I'm thinking about considering Canon 70d in case it's announced soon.)

You can wait forever trying to get the latest camera

What you need to determine is which camera system you want to be married to for the next two decades.

What camera do you have now? If it is a Canon or Nikon, you need to stick with that same brand, changing them is just too expensive.

What you need to know if you intend to use a dSLR with a video feature as your primary video camera.

Most people who do this use an external LCD which much larger than the LCD on a dSLR.

If you really like the Nikon D7100, then the Nikon D5200 which has an articulated screen may be something to consider.

In the end, you really need to spend some time on the Canon and Nikon websites and look on DP Review for professional reviews.

This may be a site you spend time to see how the sensors of the Canon x0D series cameras compare to the Nikon D7100 and D5200 cameras.

Have you spent any time in a proper camera shop? You will eventually need to do that before you spend a dime.

Are you a laboratory instrument? If not, you will have a hard time detecting any difference between photographs taken on these two cameras by a competent photographer. The differences between the two cameras in terms of image quality will be far beyond the human eye's ability to discern.

I speak for myself, but flip out screens on SLRs have limited utility. Are you going to be holding the camera at arm's length when you have a 5 pound 70-200mm lens attached to it? If so, can we call you Clark Kent? If a flip out screen is your thing, then get a point-and-shoot.
