Can I join a photography class despite my age? And if so is there any in my area?

My grandma really wants me to join a photography class but I'm only 13.Is it still possible though? I recently got a nikon camera and i've been told the pictures i take are good. I live near San jose ca. Can I join a class although i'm young? And if i can do you know any classes in my area?

There are usually classes for all ages. An entry level class should not be hard to find.

Of course you can, there's no age restriction for joining a photography class. I know some of them even offer a camera which you can borrow. If you want to learn more about trick in photography you may be interested in this e-book, which i bought several years ago and found really helpful.

My son is also 13 but it's not a photography class he's joining. It's something higher - photojournalism. He's one in seven out of 500 kids in his school picked for the short course.
