Can a Nikon Speedlight SB-600 work on my Canon EOS 350D?
I've recently borrowed my cousin's SB-600 and tried it on my 350D but doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to utilize it?
Hopefully you didn't damage the speedlight or the camera.
The only real way to use it is to use a set of remote triggers and put everything in manual.
Those small pins on the bottom of the flash shoe and the corresponding pins on the camera mount should have been your first clue as to the answer to this.
Although on some cameras/flashes not the same brand, you may get 'light out'. The information that is passed through the flash to the camera to aid in correct exposure (TTL or iTTL) will not occur due to the incompatibility of these two units.
Nikon for Nikon, Canon for Canon. Or an after market flash made for that brand.
