Can a DSLR from overseas work in the US? - 2

I will be going to Pakistan soon and i would like to buy a dslr (canon, nikon, etc.) from there since it will be cheaper. (I live in the US)
I was wondering if the camera would work here and what i would need to buy in order for it to work in the US. I know that the volts are different but i don't know too much about that stuff. So what type of battery and/or adapter would i need to buy for a overseas dslr to work in the US? I don't want to burn the battery or camera.
And what else should i be aware of? (Like, will american sd cards work on that dslr? Will it be compatible with a lens from the US?)

Well it will work fine, it's the same camera. But when you come back to the US just search for a battery charger for your camera on eBay or Amazon. They'll work and they won't damage your battery.

All SD cards and lenses are the same no matter where in the globe you buy it. I don't see why they wouldn't be.

Be aware of possibility of import taxes/customs duties when you take your "cheap" DSLR back into the states.
As others have said the only issue you may have is the charger. I think Canon use a universal charger with a different mains lead - the type with a figure "8" shaped plug where it fits into the charger.
I have used my Canon charger in the US and several European countries just by borrowing a standard lead.

Everything will work fine. The lenses are the same, memory cards are the same worldwide. The charger will be dual voltage so all you will need is a plug adapter from the Pakistan plug to the US plug.
