What is the difference between Nikon AF-D with Nikon AF-S lens?

The AF-S lenses are the newest and fastest auto-focusing lenses made.
They are also the lenses that all the entry level Nikon dSLR's need to auto-focus.

AF-S has a focus motor in the lens.AF-D uses a motor in the body to focus.AF-D does not autofocus on the small nikons d40, d60, d3000, d5000 etc.
