Why is my Kodak EasyShare camera suddenly taking pictures in green?

Kodak EasyShare Z1285 - I have had it for more than 5 years with no problems. A few days ago the coloration of the photos it takes have a green hue. For instance the blue sky looks turquoise. Indoor photos look yellow/green. The camera does not have a green coloration setting, so is there anyone that understands what is going on with the camera?
Aside from the idea that it might be time for a new camera…

If you have a Kodak that has actually worked correctly for 5 years you should go to Las Vegas. You may well be the luckiest person in the world. However you now need a new camera.

What is going on with the camera? It is courteously giving you its two week notice.

Possibly a film problem. Film badly stored or heated in transit to you. Try a different batch of film. Unlikely to be a problem in the camera itself.

And indeed you are lucky to have that camera working at all. If instant prints are not vital, buy a good digital camera from a good photo brand - not Kodak.

Sounds like the sensor is going going… Gone.

But as some say you did get a two weeks notice. Look kodak is dead, you might find another old digital camera of their brand but they are dead. Support on their digital cameras is half alive at most. Might we suggest to buy a Nikon, Canon, Sony compact camera? It will make a great replacement and only cost a little bit more then your Kodak.

Not to mention after five years sensor technology has improved allot and a new camera, again not a kodak, will definitely improve things. Just remember that image quality isn't in the megapixels but in the lens, the sensor and as usual keep an eye on functionality you desire.

Have fun shopping for a new camera.
