Which is better, Nikon or Canon? - 2

I'm traveling to UK in the summer. I want a camera that can zoom in very far but look very clear. Something that can catch a lot of detail in a photo. If I take a close up of a flower I want to see all the colors and pollen. Which brand to you recommend and what kind fits my needs?

Both, neither.

Almost all name brand digital cameras are excellent now.

All you have to do is find one with the features you would like on your camera as you travel the UK.

Take a look at this link to start your research.

In the end, how well your photos turnout will have more to do with your skills using the camera than the camera itself, so be sure to buy the camera early so you can be ready to use it when you get to the UK

It's great to zoom in on distant 'subjects' or 'objects', good fun too taking 'macro' shots, close-ups of anything… Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Sony cameras all have the ability to do this, the photographer has to have some knowledge of the basics in photography and understand how to operate the camera and control exposure… This helps getting clear images with great colour reproduction…

… There isn't anything difficult in choosing a good camera, the difficulty is in knowing how to operate it.

You sound like you're looking for a bridge camera - in which case, Fujifilm will give you more features for less money.

Canon and Nikon are only competitive in DSLRs, where zoom depends on the lens fitted, and macro lenses can cost almost as much as the camera body. I'd take Pentax over either, and my brother swears by Sony, but our parents didn't raise fools.

Work out how much you want to spend, and discuss your needs with a dealer, although personally, I wouldn't allow anyone who asked this question within 50 feet of a camera, because anyone who only knows two brands will seldom put in the time and effort needed to learn to use one properly.

Nikon COOLPIX L810 16.1 MP Digital Camera with 26x Zoom NIKKOR ED Glass Lens and 3-inch LCD is better.

The camera is wonderful for the price. The zoom is amazing and works very well with still subjects in high light. It gets a little grainy with moving subjects in lower lights (ex.zoo)… I'm very pleased with the camera and can't wait to take in on vacation!
