Shutter fires but no image is produced?

Nikon
anyone know why the shutter fires but no image is being produced.Everything else on lcd seems fine

Are you using the cameras lightmeter? Does it show that you are not underexposing your shots?
Since you did not tell us if you have a Nikon dSLR or a Nikon P&S, we really can't give you a better answer.
Generally if you are using a dSLR, you will be looking through the viewfinder and all the information you need to produce a well exposed image is there.
If all else fails, read the instructions

Nikon d50. Only issue is once it's shot results no picture.shutter fires

If you're shooting with a DSLR, do you have a card installed?
This is the digital equivalent of failing to put in the film - with the same result.
