Image detail vs Image quality?
I was looking at the canon 7d and the nikon d7000.It said the canon 7d had better image detail while the d7000 had better quality.
What's the differences
I'm not so sure there's a difference. Look up those cameras here and see what you can learn: http://www.dpreview.com/...eview.com/
I just took a look and this is how the sensors of those two compare.

I see that the D7000 out performs the 7D in all categories.
Where did you get your information?
In general if the 7D did have better image detail, the D7000 could not have a better quality image. There's no difference between the two.
Only the website who used those terms can tell you explain what they meant by "image detail" and "image quality".
There are *many* factors involved in image quality, such as the digital resolution (megapixels), sensor size, pixel pitch, optical resolution of the lens (line pairs per mm), dynamic range, the type of Bayer filter, etc.
You could put a better lens on a worse sensor, or a worse lens on a better sensor - which gives the "best" photo?
You can take many numerical measurements from cameras and lenses but ultimately it comes down to a matter of personal preference: which looks best in your opinion?
