Recommended video editing programmes?

I'm planning on becoming a You Tuber later on this year, but the problem i'm having is that i'm not sure what video editing software i should use. I don't want anything too expensive at the moment, not unless i get really into it, i'm looking for a cheap (if not free) video editing programme that isn't too hard to use. I own a Dell/Windows computer so I can't use any Apple or Mac products. I plan on using a Nikon digital camera for the moment, but i'm looking into better cameras (if that makes a difference).
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

If you're planning to become a YouTube partner and generate money you have to use the type of editing program that allows commercial use. YouTube may actually ask you to provide proof that your software's agreement allows you to do so.
This is something that you have to do yourself before buying a program. Read their license agreement to see if they allow this. THat is your number one priority right now.
Programs such as Adobe Premiere, Sony Vegas Pro will do the job fine.
