Free Video Editing Software?

I want a video editing software that gives me like filters or presets or something that sort of changes the color of my video. Maybe a editing software like adobe after effects (I tried downloading the trial already but, no go) I have a Nikon D3100 so I want a good editing software that will do my videos justice. Not like windows movie maker lol. So yeah any suggestions?

FREE? And CLOSET TO ADOBE? I don't think so.

If you do, i want it cause we can put adobe out of business. All your going to get are user open source junk that won't be compatible with a single thing.
