Is a nikkor 18-55mm lens considered a wide angle lens?

I have a nikon d3100 with the 18-55mm lens is this considered to be a wide angle lens. Looking to do some real estate photography. If not what would be a good lens for this?

The 18mm is the wide angle end of the lens and in most cases is likely to be wide enough.

If you want to go wider, I recommend the Sigma 10-20mm or the Tokina 11-16mm.

Tokina 12-24 would be a super-wide angle at full-frame, and just a wide angle (12*1,5=18) at a cropped byonett

18mm would be a moderate wide angle (anything below 35mm is considered wide angle).

If you want the ultimate in a wide angle lens, look at the Sigma 8-16mm. It is the widest angle (non fisheye) lens you can get for a cropped DSLR. Another good choice is the Tokina 11-16mm, but the Sigma is a good 35% wider.

Even though the Tokina 11-16 is a bit narrower than the Sigma, it is a fast f/2.8, which helps in low-light situations, such as inside buildings.

If you buy one of the Tokina lenses, make sure you get the DX II (DX2) version as the Tokina DX versions will not focus on your camera (they are equivalent to AF lenses).

Really, you probably should drop by a camera shop and have them show you the differences between them, which can help you make your decision.
