I've recently bought a dslr lens but I but my UV filter backwards (not on the way where the thread of filter was directed). Now I can't remove it.whenever I try to twist it to remove, it just keeps on turning with no sing of twisting out. Please help me. I really value this lens and filter as well:*(

The lens is AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8 G and the filter is 52mm Tiffen filter polarizer

Filters only go on one way. It is impossible to screw them on backward.

All I can figure is that you stripped the threads. Have you ever used a filter before.

All you can do is visit a proper camera shop and have them get you out of this pickle.

Remember. NEVER force anything when it comes to using a camera. They are precision instruments and need to be treated as such

Yes, I think you managed to friction fit it on "backwards" - just pull it off.

The polorizer sounds like a CPL filter, a part of the filter is designed to rotate - so don't worry you've not put it on backwards, probably just a little tight.

Bring the camera into a warm room, NOT an airing cupboard or anything warmer, and let it stand for a couple of hours. Then then you try to remove the filter ring, grasp not only the end of the filter, but the next -apparently unmoving ring next to it, it's this what you need to unscrew. It should be fine!

This image shows the two rings of the filter that you need to be twisting to remove: http://www.adorama.com/...ilter.html note the thinner knurled ring to the rear.

How the hell did you manage to get the filter on backwards? That's what I want to know. Hmm, the end of this lens has threads in it and the end of this filter has threads around it. I'm going to ignore this detail and shove it on backwards!
