I don't think the D3100 has two button reset. When I look in the.pdf manuals for my D60 or D90 a search for two-button brings it up. With the D3100.pdf manual it finds nothing.

I believe an option buried deep in the menu hierarchy is the correct way to reset the camera. Read the manual to be certain.

I believe only Pentax has a green button but only one. Nikon doesn't.

I believe you need to access the menu to reset the camera. RESET SHOOTING OPTIONS and RESET SETUP OPTIONS.

Edit; Nikon advanced cameras indeed have two-button reset modes, but apparently not the D3100.

The D3100 doesn't have a quick reset feature as its an entry level body.

However if you go into the setup menu its the first option labeled "Reset setup options". Just select yes and the camera will reset.
