Why did the buttons on the back of my nikon d5300 stop working?
None of the buttons on the back of my d5300 work anymore. Not sure if it's damaged or somehow locked! I can't review or edit or delete pics. I can still take pics. But that's all.
Did you spill something sticky on the back of your camera?
You need to contact Nikon for the best answer.
I'm surprise that you have a fully adjustable camera but want to do your "editing" using the Retouchng menu. Most of us have subscribed to Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC, the best way to process your RAW image files and do any serious retouching
In the future please do NOT use the delete button on your camera. This is perhaps the number one cause for corrupted image files and cards. Instead, at the end of each shooting day, copy all the images from the memory card to your computer. Once they are safely on the computer, use the format feature on your camera to format the card. Do this routinely and you will probably never lose an image again due to card or image corruption
You will most likely need to take that camera to a competent repair shop, but possibly Nikon will give you some clues if you contact Nikon direct.
"I can't review or edit or delete pics".
Have you checked the memory card is not locked? Make sure the switch on the side of the memory card is set to the unlocked position.
Probably sweat from your face has entered through the button holes. Bring your camera back to the store you bought it from for servicing.
Do a camera reset. If that doesn't work, remove the batteries for 10 minutes and see it that works. If not, time to contact Nikon.
