Uv filter stuck on lens

Welly

I recently bought the Nikon d3200 which came with a uv lens to put on the lens. So I put it on but I can't get it off! Whenever I try to screw it off, the lens turns and makes a sound. I'm scared to break it.

Take a rubber band, and put it around the front of the lens just behind the UV filter. Use the rubber band as a "grip" to hold onto the front of the lens, then unscrew the UV filter.

Oh, and when you get it off, *leave* it off. Permanently. Your digital sensor is not sensitive to UV light, so the "filter" is doing nothing but degrading your images with a cheap piece of lousy glass in front of a finely-tuned expensive camera lens. It also offers little or no "protection." Use your lens hood, and keep the filter off.

Grip the lens just close to the filter and unsitck it; ther's no other way

You can buy a set of filter wrenches (cheap) from any photographic shop or even eBay, make sure you get a set the right size for your filter. Like these

These should remove even a cross threaded filter.

Another way is to use a rubber jam jar lid remover, usually sold in shops supplying the disabled.
