I went on vacation and took a looot of pictures with my Nikon D7000. As I was transfering them to my computer i noticed some of the pictures had like a grey strip on half of the picture and I can't fully see it. I've tried viewing them with tons of different programs and i even tried transferring the pictures with view nx2. But some of them still have this weird grey strip covering half of the picture. I really hope someone knows how to fix this. I took 3870 pictures and I'm having problems viewing nearly half of them. I need help!

That grey strip may be the cameras shutter. If you tried to take photos using flash at a shutter speed higher than the flash sync shutter speed.

Your camera syncs at 1/250th second or slower.

Look on page 222 of your user manual.

You did not mention if this happened on certain photos intermingled with the others, or just the last few.

I'm afraid that you did not shoot at your cameras highest resolution (I get 170 shots on a 4 gb card) If I were to shoot 3870 photos on a trip, I would have had to use 22 - 4 gb cards.

I guess I don't have to ask if you copied all your images to your notebook computer at the end of each shooting day. The fact that you had so many image files, shows that you did not.

You can try Transcends RecoveRx and try to recover the damaged image files. You will have to place the memory card in your card reader since it takes about 15 minutes to recover images on a 4 gb card.
