How can I make money by cutting hair, I'm thinking about buying a good pair of scissors? What? I have to LEARN the skill first? Get an education in it? But they are PROFESSIONAL scissors!

If that sounds silly to you, imagine how you sound to those of us who have made a living in this field for decades.

I'm only 14 and i'm a young photographer, but i have skill. I take family portraits and get paid i also sell my pictures to my moms clients. So its not very hard just don't price things to high. And you don't just have to do nature shots your camera is capable for many other things.

The simplest way is to sell your camera.

Other than that, you would be left with selling goods (like prints and albums) and services like stock licenses and sitting fees.

I want to know why Perki88 feels the need to respond to a question in that manner? This forum is 99% novices and quite a large percentage of those are teens. What's the point of telling someone they sound like a fool? Quite honestly, I think replies like that make the writer sound foolish. If you don't feel like answering then don't do so. Some of these teens or adults that you offend might very well go on to do great things with a camera. I had plenty of people talk down to me when I was young and today I just laugh at them.

So to answer your question: It is extremely difficult to make money with a camera. You are competing against the best photographers in the world who are talented, very well trained and determined to make a living. Based on your question, I doubt that you have the expertise to compete right now. That does not say anything about your talent because I have no way of knowing how talented you are without seeing your shots. Learn as much as you can and build yourself a portfolio. When you have a few great shots, try selling them to friends first. Also, get professional opinions of your work. You'll know when you are ready to approach magazines, galleries and/or and stock agencies.

You have to learn the skill first. You can't just buy a camera and start to magically take wonderful photos. Making money with Photography take years and years of hard work and practise. It is also very expensive to get into. And you are defiantly underestimating what is required to be successful in photography. That's really how blunt I can be about tit.
