Well, a professional could get good results with it, but no, it's a mid-range DSLR.

It all depends on who you ask…

A lot of people (mostly kids) think that ANY DSLR is a "professional" camera. On the other hand, a lot of professional photographers go by the "grade" of a camera, as in entry level (less than $1, 000), semi-professional ($1, 500-$3, 000), or professional grade ($3, 500++) cameras.

For example, the Nikon D3/D4 is a professional grade camera and the D70 is considered an "entry level" camera that was made to compete with the Canon 300D (the original Rebel).
