Will a Non motorised Nikon 50mm F1.8 lens auto-focus when mounted on a Nikon D70 Camera?
I'm looking for the cheapest Nikon DSLR camera that will auto focus with a 50mm f1.8 lens.
You can pick up 2nd hand a Nikon D70 body for peanuts these days.
Yes, I believe it should
DPreview says "Type G or D AF Nikkor: All functions supported"
Yes as the D70/D70s are advanced level cameras, which have an inbuilt autofocus motor.
Additionally the D70 has a wireless flash commander, and a CCD sensor so you can sync at unlimited speeds in manual mode.
Yes. I had the D70 before I upgraded to a D90. I gave it to my youngest son who still uses it. It is an advanced amateur camera and will autofocus any Nikon AF series lens.
