Does the Nikon 24 mm pc-e lens work with D5000?

I own a Nikon d5000. I'm looking to rent a wide angle with tilt/shift function for some architectural /landscape photography. Will a Nikon 24 mm pc-e work? Will there any limitations or issues?

Page 194 of your camera's manual contains a CPU lens compatibility chart that shows the D5000 can be used with PC-E NIKKOR lenses. The limitations seem to be that the D5000 can't autofocus with PC-E lenses and most features (such as manual focus with the electronic rangefinder, various shooting modes, and metering modes) can't be used with shifting or tilting.
