Does the Nikon 55-300mm f/4.5-5.6G ED VR AF-S DX work WELL with the Nikon d5000?

I'm literally a second away from pushing "order" for this lens, but I just wanted to do one last check. Is the zoom acceptable? I love this lens for the price, but I want to make sure its worth all the pennies.

Push that button! It's a nice budget alternative to the 70-300

It is a great lens! It will work great with the D5000, it is a Nikon lens, so it is designed to work with Nikon cameras. And the zoom is acceptable, 5.45x zoom.
