How is the internal video on the Nikon D810? I have considered getting an ATOMOS recorder along with a D810 but am still in the process of deciding. Thanks.

Added (1). Also, if answerable, does the D810 dual slot recording work well? Example: is it possible to record 14bit RAW photos to the CF slot for later editing and send a JPEG copy via Eyefi card to my phone for quick HD viewing? I have heard eyes doesn't work very well with some cameras.

I have had my Nikon D800e for just over a four months and only tested the video feature to see if I could view histograms in the video mode.

If I were to actually shoot a video script using the D800/D800e/D810, I would attach a Atomos 4.3" Ninja 2 Video Recorder via the HDMI port so I could record RAW video (10/8-bit 4:2:2). When using an SSD drive attached to the Ninja 2, the take times are NOT limited to 4 gb video files like typical digital SLR cameras.

This may not be a real problem since when shooting from a script, it is rare that a single take will be longer than 2 minutes.

I have used 1000x 32 gb CF cards as well as 633x 64 gb SDHX, Class 10, UHS-1 cards when shooting still images.

To your second part.

The dual memory slot works perfectly when shooting still images. The options are; * both cards record the same images, one backing up the other, * one card can record RAW image files and the other JPEG or * they can be used so that once the first is full, the second continues recording the next image files.

When it comes to using an Eye-Fi card, the problem you will run into is that the files produced by a 36 mp sensor are huge! JPEG 30 mb files are typical. The number of image files you could place on your camera would be limited by the amount of storage left on your mobile.
