Can I ruin my shots by moving the film? How do I fix this?

I have a nikon l35 af film camera and I have film in it and have taken a few shots but I opened the film compartment and may have moved the film slightly and now the little window where it tells you how many shots you've taken says 's' what does this mean and what can I do so I don't ruin any of my shots.

If you opened the camera back you have already ruined the film and probably most of the photos you have taken.

Light exposes film, and wipes the images. - even just a few seconds. So they are ruined.

If you opened the camera back, then you will have ruined the film. You must never do that… The light will destroy the film.

The counter is a convenience - unless you work really really hard you can't tear off the film by trying to get to the last picture in the cartridge (lets say 24) when your counter says 20 and it doesn't advance
As said - if you opened it in a lighted space you have almost certainly ruined the film at the exposure point, maybe a couple either side and maybe all you have taken. You will certainly have to advance the film so the counter says 2 or 3 to get past the exposed part if you did not have it in a dark bag or completely dark room.

The counter has re-set and you need to wind it to a number. If you were not in a darkroom or in the dark when you opened it you might have exposed the film and photos may not turn out.
