Film Exposure Too Dark Can I fix it?

I recorded on a Canon 7D with a Nikon 50 mm lense, my video came out too dark. Can I fix this in post to make it brighter. I'm going to edit on Avid.

If you had overexposed the video, you could probably make it darker (depending on the lighting), but increasing the exposure in post will give you a lot of video noise.
