That's definitely a Hasselblad.

Hemmings himself grew rather fond of the Nikkormat FTn (forerunner of the FM and FM2) his character used for 35mm work.

Nikon created the Nikkormats as a cheaper alternative to the professional F and F2. The F-series were manual, and the E-series aperture priority with manual override.

Definitely a Hasselblad 500c 120 roll film camera, fitted with the optional magnifying prism, a crank handle for fast frame advance, and what appears to be an optional focussing lever on the lens. Most likely with the 150mm lens which has always been very popular for portraits and studio work. There's insufficient detail in that photo to be any more specific. 120 roll film gave a maximum of 12 (occasionally you could squeeze 13 out), depending upon the exact frame format used. But an optional 220 film back could be added which allowed an official maximum of 24 shots, but you could usually squeeze 26 or occasionally 27 from it.

Medium format cameras are heavy and cumbersome, and not really suited to handheld photography. But when mounted on a solid tripod the far larger negative than in 35mm film is capable of delivering far higher detail, such as is required for enlargements to advertising billboard sizes.

No idea about the Nikon, as I haven't seen that film for many years.

It looks like a Hasselblad but it could be a Bronica or a Mamiya.

They were always expensive. They used 120 film, had interchangeable lenses, focussing screens and backs, and took excellent quality photos.

Those makers still exist and there's still a second-hand market for their systems.

Hasselblad, not Bronica or Mamiya.
