Should i be able to get a 700 dollar camera?
I want a nikon d3100 for 700. My parents said that if i got good grades, i can get one, i have gotten all a's and 3 b's through the whole year. I'm willing to pay half/half.fair or not?
Totally fair, if your parent's say yes, then all for it. Don't get your hopes up though, I was supposed to get my iPod touch last year after getting awesome grades but they postponed it til this year
Can they afford it?
Hard to believe that you are doing good in English.
Speaking as the son of parents who haven't always made smart financial decisions, I must say that $350 (half of the bill) is still pretty steep. Your grades do reflect that you try hard in school, and unless your parents buy you this kind of stuff all of the time, It does seem fair.
If you are taking photography as a major when you get to collage, make sure you use this when asking for the camera, because it is an investment into your future. Just be nice, and if no is the answer, than take it like it is. (Begging is more likely to not get you the camera after no has been said.)
Remember your Ps and Qs. Hope this helps.
Fair is a relative term. Some might consider you getting a camera at all is fair.
also the D3100 is $600 now, not $700
You can't get all A's and have 3 B's. It's either all A's or A's and B's.
It will all depend now on what is good enough for your parents, what is fair or not is totally relative.Me? It took my youngest son to place second in class for me to give him a secondhand D50 with a 50mm f/1.8. He didn't have to spend anything on it so he bought a secondhand CPU for himself with his own money.
