Will Nikon SB-28DX work in ITTL mode with D600?
Hi and thanks in advance for you help.
I'm looking at buying a cheap new or second hand flash for my camera Nikon D600. I'm new to flash photography and am not looking at spending allot till I get used to it and lean the basics.
I have a friend who is offering me his Nikon SB-28DX for only £50 but my question is there any limitations against or advantages for using this flash on my D600 and does the ITTL work or is it even important. I like doing portrait photography so I want to make sure it's ok.
I have been looking on google but can't find any answers that directly relate to the D600.
This information should be in your user manual pages 294 and 295.
The SB-28DX shows it only works in auto in the non-TTL mode
I suggest you look for a good used SB-600. It supports iTTL.
EDIT: A single on camera flash is perhaps the worst lighting for portrait work You need at least a key and fill light to produce brilliant portraits and in may cases, portrait photographers include a background flash and hair or rim flash to separate the subject from the background
