Because the SB700 is superior in nearly every way

Actually the SB700 is less powerful than the SB600 - but only about 10% or so.
Besides the natural progression in pre-planned model obsolesce, the SB600 was hard to use as the menu system was pretty lame. Sure it worked OK if you were just taking basic photos, but if you had to set it up for CLS remote operation, it was hard to remember how to do it.
That is the primary reason I sold my SB600 and went with a SB700.
