Interested in buying a Kodak printer for ink savings, but is the picture quality good?

I want to get a new printer. I currently have an HP Photosmart 2610 that is about 5 years old, So obviously I would want to buy a printer that would have the same or better photo quality.

I was looking at the Kodak printers because they really give you long time savings on ink. But is their photo quality good? Or alteast better than the HP I currently have.

I really would like to print good pictures with my D5000 Nikon camera. So quality is a main reason why I want to get a new printer. I'm interested in photo printing only.

If not a Kodak, any other printer that is good? I'm looking to spend about $200 or so. I was reading about Epsons, but have heard their multi cartrige ink gets expensive and that you have to change all cartriges at the same time.

I would appreciate any help!

I have never been impressed with Kodak printers or cameras.

Yes, Epsons use a lot of ink, and it gets expensive.

Whatever printer you get make sure it has a minimum of 8 (preferably 12) different color inks for printing photos.

Keep in mind you get what you pay for. A set of ink for my photo printer is about $800.So don't expect the type of printer you get for $200 that includes the ink is going to produce professional photos.

You might be better off getting your photos done at mpix.com and just using your current printer for document.

I'm not into Kodak and the only machine I hold from them is the easy share ( http://www.pcrush.com/product/All-in-One-Multifunction-Printers/426092/Kodak-EasyShare-ESP3250-Multifunction-Printer?bsrc=sli ) A friend of mine use that and says it has quality printing with pictures, especially if you use photo papers.
