I'm looking for buying a Nikon SLR or similar entry level camera - any suggestions which is good? I was told that now-a-days, lenses have motors which helps click faster. Budget is a constraint so please suggest within say Rs. 35, 000/

See if your budget buys a D3100 kit. A lot better than the Canons in that pricerange.

By clicking do you mean how fast the shutter can take continuous photos? If so, having motors will not matter. Having an "auto-focus" motor in the camera body only effects cameras that use the older design of auto-focus lenses that depend upon such a motor.

All the fast auto-focus lenses like the Nikkor AF-S lenses and others have internal ultra-fast focusing motors when can enhance the speed at which the lens auto-focuses in use.

Look at the entry level Nikon D3000, Canon 1000D or Pentax K-x for what you need.

Visit each cameras website and compare features to see which one may fit both your budget and needs.

At present, the Nikon D3100 is the entry level camera with the most bang for the buck, but may be just outside your budget.

If possible, hold each camera in your hands and see which of them have the menu easiest for you to navigate and which camera is easiest for you to make quick, common changes in the white balance, EV, ISO and shooting modes.
