Which is better, Nikon or Cannon?

Since there's NO camera by the name of Cannon (a military weapon), that only leaves Nikon.
Actually you are going to have to do your own research. People here tend to favor one camera brand over another based upon "feelings" rather than data research. Do the research and you will soon know which is the best for you.
Since you neglected to mention the model number, it is nearly impossible to answer your question
