Which is an all around better camera. NIKON or CANON?
I'm interested in being a photographer so to get myself started I'd like to buy a high quality camera thats worth the money you pay for it. You know… Has good zoom, nice quality pictures ect.ect.
Id perfer kodak.
Neither. Both can have good zoom, nice quality pictures, etc.
However, I do believe that Canon has the edge over Nikon overall in terms of point-and-shoot cameras, while for DSLRs, they are more or less even.
They are pretty much even. Nikon is superior when it comes to low light/iso, but I think that Canon has slightly better image quality
If you had mentioned any other brand this question would be easier to answer. 8^) Canon and Nikon are the two best brands. I think they are roughly equivalent.
All around better- neither is better than the other. They are very much comparable in their specifications, but when comparing like models, the only real way to decide is what is most comfortable for you to handle.
either way, you can't go wrong with either company
I'm in more or less the same position as you, Currently looking at the Nikon D5000 and the Canon EOS 500d
Been into various retailers and to be honest the Canon feels better in my hand - But the best deal is on the Nikon and the reviews i've read have been more or less equal…
I decided to go for the Nikon for sheer value for money - Nikon D5000 with twin lens kit 18-55mm & 55-200mm VR lens for £570
