Which has been the most followed photo brand besides from Nikon and Canon?
Well, this is not another post in the endless list of debates between Nikonians and Canonists… But lately I'm not sure about the second -or should I say third place?- in the list of photo brands with the largest and most loyal group of followers… I'd say that Pentax and Olympus are close between them, and as the list goes to the bottom we would have to write the names Minolta, Fujica… And even the smaller but now and then brought to the memory like Praktica, Zenit, Yashica, Chinon, Ricoh, Mamiya, etc…
Basically I'm thinking about the manufacturers of 35mm and RF of the old days.
Currently, I'd put Sony in "third" place -- but that changes all the time. At various times Pentax, Minolta, Konica, etc.could have held that place if you go by sales.
If you go by loyalty, Leica might be #1 -- but they've never been "popularly" successful, largely because of price.
What about Hasselblad? I'd say Hasselblad and Mamiya rank up there, especially with professional photographers…
Kodak isn't on the list? Sony and Olympus are up there.
