Which DSLR is better for video vlogs for YouTube?
NIkon d3300 - 450
or
Canon EOS Rebel t6i Creator kit (comes with camera lens and an external rode mic) - $800
any recommendations for video DSLR for youtube? Budget is up to 800 at most
I currently use a Canon G7X
I'm always surprised that someone would consider a $600 to $1,000 digital SLR to shoot video for Youtube and vlogs when actually a video camera would (or at least should) be the first choice.
I guess if you bought a Nikon D3300 for $450, a Zoom H1 external sound recorder ($100) and at least two continuous lamps to light your scenes or set ($150 to $200) you will meet your budget of less than $800.
The "creator" kit from Canon will still lack the sound recorder (the internal sound recorders in digital SLR cameras are very poorly designed) as well as lighting for your vlogs or YouTube videos.
Look at some of the excellent camcorders made by JVC, Panasonic, Sony and Canon that fit your budget remembering that you will still need an external sound recorder and lighting. External sound recorders are necessary it you want pristine sound
