Which brand of slr cameras should I choose? Nikon or Canon?

So, I've been looking at slr cameras for months now and i STILL can't decide which one to get… I have a canon digital point and shoot camera and i love it so i figured why not look for a canon slr. But everyone's telling me that nikon has the best slr cameras

i'm not really looking towards taking pictures of landscapes and stuff like that but i usually take candid pictures and on my point and shoot i tend to use the digital macro a lot like when i wanna take pictures of flowers or other nature

Well with DSLR cameras, it is the lenses that you shoot with that determine what you shoot.

Truth is that Canon and Nikon are pretty much equal in every way, it matters not which one has the better quality, but which one fits better in your hand, which one is easier for you to use, etc. I suggest you go to a store and look at the cameras that are in your budget- all of them are good.

As for landscapes, the supplied lens, which is an 18-55mm VR/IS lens is fine for landscapes and normal shooting. Most people will use that lens for 70-80% of their shooting.

as for macro, best would be to get a macro lens such as the 85mm which will do much better than the supplied lens.

Dr. Iblis said it all. He's 100% correct. Both brands are equal and it's more a matter of personal preference when choosing a brand.

Both are great, but I myself prefer this camera (linked).It's worked wonders for me. It's all just a matter of opinion though.
