On the bottom, but DON'T use your name.

Use something less plain.

Most people use their driver's license number.

I don't put such identifiers on my things at all.
There are other ways…

Most people never engrave their name on cameras because it destroys the resale value of the gear. You are going to sell the D5600 as some point; this is a given. As opposed to the slight chance that your gear is stolen or lost.

If you have insurance such a a home owner's policy or a renter's policy, then your gear is insured and you won't be concerned about getting an old camera back. Be aware that most insurance policies will not pay for the replacement of business equipment. Instead, most policies have limits as little as $200 if your personal property was stolen and it was used in a business. Read your policy to know. So if you're going to be using the gear for making money, you will need to have a special insurance policy or you will need to buy a floater for your gear. A friend of mine had his Canon 1Dx stolen. He was not a "pro" in that photography was his sole income - far from it. However he had a website and was doing payed jobs. The insurance agent saw his website and deemed the gear to be business equipment. His gear cost $25,000 and he got a $200 check from the insurance company.

Instead of engraving your name, use invisible ink that is only visible under black light conditions.

Use a stick-on label (Brother P-Touch) on the bottom of the camera and a small label inside the battery compartment. The label adhesive is very durable, but the label is removable with a bit of care.

Plus, the vibration of the engraver may damage the camera unless you're using an NC mill.

On the bottom, you can engrave your initials on the battery cover (which you can safely detach first) or on the other end beside the Recycle logo. Another area, if you dare, is behind the rear LCD itself. Just make sure you set your engraver to the lightest touch. You should realize though that the vigorous shaking during engraving may damage the electronics inside.

Don't do it put a removable sticker on it. If you ever sell it in the future won't get as much

Don't do that, it's worth less when you sell it.

No, take a photo of the serial number. That will help the police to find your camera.
