What camera lenses can I use for a nikon like different name brands?
I have a nikon d3000 is there different name brand lenses i can put on?
You can use any lens no matter what brand ad long ad they can fit the Nikon F mount that's on most Nikons. You can get a Nikkor (Nikon brand), Kiron (much older brand) Tamron, Sigma, etc. As long as they say they fit the Nikon F mount.
As for what lens to buy, that's entirely your choice, a wide angle lens, macro lens, telephoto, or the pricey all-in-one wide angle to telephoto lenses
Nikon
Tokina
Sigma
Tamron
Zeiss (limited availability).
I would not bother with the others; Vivitar, Quantarary, etc, as they are low quality junk… In my opinion. And even Sigma and Tamron are questionable at times.
When you go with the 3rd party lenses, make sure they are for the Nikon F mount as they make lenses for several brands of cameras, and they will not work on your camera.
Also, your camera lacks an autofocus motor, so even some Nikon lenses will not autofocus with your camera.
