I recently bought a Canon dslr and I LOVE it, it's so amazing! And honestly think Canon is better than Nikon. My sister works at Best Buy an so does my brother. They recommend Canon!

Neither. There are some Nikon bodies that have certain edges over Canon, there are canon lenses and other things that have a slight edge. When it boils down to it they are the top two and neither is better. It is all about what fits you properly and has the features that you want and need.

It depends on personal preference. Ask someone who shoots with a Nikon and they'll tell you that Nikon is better, and vice versa with Canon users.

I would suggest trying out cameras from both brands at a nearby camera/electronic store to see which one is more comfortable for you to use.

Both make great dSLRs, so you really can't go wrong either way.

Both brands are high quality. It comes down to which brand you like to handle better (digital menus, and ergonomics), and the lenses you plan to buy in the future. I tend to love electronics that I can figure out intuitively, without too much difficulty.

Go to your camera shop, and handle the models by Canon and Nikon, go through their menu's and see which you find easier to navigate intuitively. In the lower end Canon's and Nikon's like the D3000 and the T3i, there's not too much difference in quality. Once you move into the higher end, Nikon takes the prize in low light performance, and Canon is stronger in the realm of DSLR video. See if there are any particular features you plan to use that only one brand is strong in.

If you are just an enthusiast, keep it simple - pick the one you that simply feels better to you in regards to buttons, menus, and just overall ergonomics.

It's coke and pepsi really. Both are excellent I prefer Cannon. I myself for the sketch comedy show that I produce use a Cannon 5D MkII. Lenses are really what matters most when you are looking at a similar price range with both brands.going for a Cannon T2i will open up a variety of lenses as well as the same price model for Nikon, go with the one you are familiar with and go for the one that you see better price options for lenses.

I find its always the canon people that say " Canon Rules! " with little more evidence to support their claim then " because i have just bought one " Both companies are great. I think Nikon takes the edge in lower end/ consumer DSLRs such as D3100, D5100 and D7000 due to Superior sensors ( image Quality) and the reduction of price over the still great canon. I love both companies, but to anyone who is so single minded and set is just a fool.
