Right now i'm choosing which brand of camera to get. I'm stuck between Nikon, Canon, or Olympus. Which ones better?

Best? Well at the professional level I'd say the new Canon 5d Mark 3 at about $5, 000.

If you're looking at the consumer level better come up with a budget - $1, 000, $500 what?

Also if you compare apples to apples, there's no better between Canon and Nikon.Me, I don't trust Olympus… Lots of people do, I don't.

Without knowing your budget it's pretty hard to recommend anything but any model in the Canon Rebel Line - can you tell I'm a Canon loyalist?

My brother uses Nikon and I use Canon. Hands on, His Nikon 300 is very similar to my Canon 7D. If I had the most basic way to describe the difference in these two I would say that Nikon is more mechanical. It's like a precision mechine.

The canon is more electrical. Where the nikon operates off of switches and dedicated buttons, the higher end canons operate on multiple short menu.

At the end of the day, the canon always warms my heart. I like the way it feels and looks. Canon also makes a very nice line of printers.

The big fact… Canon is a more common camara. As a learning photographer, I spend a lot of time in the city streets. In a big tourist and entertainment based city, a lot of people carry camera. Big cameras at that. I see countless 7D's and 5D's as well as t2i's and t3i's. The bridge models come in all brands but all the DSLR's are canon. While I have seen a few uncommon cameras like the pentax, I very seldom see a Nikon.

What that means is that if you want a real good deal on a used lens in your area, you will most likely find it's a canon.

I suggest you go for Canon. Easier to use, better in terms of image quality, easier handling, etc.

Canon also offers a wider range of lenses, and makes the best lenses in the world (L-series). Not even Nikon lenses can get close to that.

Canon also offers more value for money.

Nikon: You have to dig through so many menus to change a setting.
Canon: Almost everything can be controlled from the home screen.
