Best point and shoot pocket camera? Best website for reviews beginners understand?

I'm looking to buy a new digital camera. My current Nikon Cool Pix is not working out. It takes Way too long to snap a photo. I currently use my Nikon SLR but that isn't the best choice for all occasions.
I need a pocket camera that:
Takes good quality photos (I like to edit - red eye removal, skin touch ups on photoshop!)
Takes photos super quick once you hit the button
I''ve been trying to look up reviews but there's a lot of language I don't understand, for instance:

What is Sluggish RAW shooting and flash-recycling times listed under cons?

Try http://www.dpreview.com/...eview.com/
It has a buying guide, feature search and side by side comparisons, a very good site.

Look at the Nikon P7100 - it has controls and features similar to your DSLR. And depending on your DSLR model, the P7100 may even use the same battery - which would come in handy for battery management.
Sluggish RAW would mean the camera takes a long time to process photos in the RAW format. Flash-recycle time is the time it takes for the flash to recharge and be ready for the next photo. But 99% of the recycle time is battery dependent (the weaker the batteries become, the longer the flash requires to recharge).
The flash tube in a flash unit takes between 300Volts and 500Volts DC to operate. Therefore, there's a rather good sized capacitor in the flash unit that by using electronics circuitry, it charges the capacitor to the required voltage to fire the tube. This is from the 2 or 4 batteries in the flash or camera.
That takes awhile. And when the batteries are weak, it takes awhile longer. The time it takes is called the flash-recycle time, although I suppose it should be called the flash charge time.
