Batteries for my camera won't work?

I have a Nikon ooolpix L26 and for a while now it won't work on AA batteries. I have the settings checked to alkaline batteries but it only takes a couple frames before turning off and videos are out the question.
Added (1). It happens when i put new batteries in

If there nonchargeable there dead you need new batteries

Try the Super Alkaline. Office Depot has a big display.
Lithium Ion is all the rage now.

Not Lithium-ion, Lithium Iron Disulfide (for example: Energizer Lithium non-rechargeables)
If you used Lithium-ion rechargeable batteries in the AA size in your camera, you would destroy it. Lithium-ion produces 3.6v per cell, way too high for anything expecting 1.2~1.5v per cell.
Non-rechargeable Lithium Iron Disulfide = 1.5v
Rechargeable Lithium-ion = 3.6v
Try a fresh set of Energizer Lithium (non-rechargeable Lithium-Iron-Disulfide). If your camera only lasts for a couple of shots, take the batteries out and see if they feel warm. If they do, something inside of your camera is taking too much juice (possibly a short).
