Sony Vegas/Nikon J1 problems?
I have a Nikon J1 and whenever I import a long video file into Sony Vegas (I have 7) the audio just comes up as a line and the clip is a little slow. I changed the settings on the J1 from 1080 to 720 HD but I haven't tried recording yet on that setting… But I was wondering is it the video that's making it act like that in Sony Vegas or is it just Sony Vegas itself? And is there anyway to fix this problem?
You seem to have a misunderstanding when it comes to shooting video
Video is shot using a script and the longest take is usually less than two to three minutes.
Shooting long takes can only exacerbate your problems when you start editing your video.
Slow video is caused by using old or slow CPU's. To edit and render video, you need at least a i5 CPU and 8 gb of RAM
You can't blame the camera nor the program you are using. You have to have all the necessary tools before you can expect to produce successful videos. This includes having a good script
I would agree with David, it's neither the video, the camera or the software… It's your slow computer.
That was one of the many problems that TV makers had to deal with many years ago, the huge data stream created by HD video. Now you're feeling it. It sounds as if your computer is too slow to handle the data stream.
I had the same problem and had to upgrade my computer with a new system running at 3.3 with
8gb of ram - problem solved.
