Sony Nex C3 or Sony HX9V?

I'm looking to upgrade from my pretty standard digital camera (Nikon S3000) to a new camera for my holiday. After researching it seems that I'm stuck between the two (even though they are quite different).

In terms of compactness I would probably use the 16mm lens more frequently if I went for the C3 (even though the 18-55mm would not be too much of a problem)

Most of my pictures would consist of the wife and kids and some of the resort. Which camera would I get the best pictures from?

The best price is around £220 for the HX9V and £360 for the C3.

Also which would hold its value better if I was to upgrade in 12-18 months (I'm aware that the HX20V is due for release in April/May but not sure about any plans to upgrade the C3).

Go for Sony HX9V.
