Should i go for nikon p 500?

I liked its zoom and flash and a secondary lever for zoom

If you really like then why not? It has the longest zoom ever on a commercial digital camera. That alone makes it very enticing.

I like the P7000 better. Although the MSRP of the P7000 is $100 more, the street price of the two cameras are about the same (at least at Amazon).

I don't like the super-zooms so much as I think the image quality goes down as the zoom power increases. But to each it's own.

While the zoom on the P7000 is not as powerful, the lens is faster, and that is going to make a lot of difference.

Although the P500 is not a bad camera, the P7000 has just so many more advanced features that the P500 would not be my choice.

But you can't go wrong with either.

Ya sure it is a good camera with 36x zoom, 12MP & HD movie recording. But i would also like to suggest you anotherodel within your range & requirement… Canon powershot sx30IS
Have a look at it once, it has 14MP, 35x zoom, HD recording & a litte compact than nikon p500…
I would advice you to go with canon
